Borders
There is much work that needs to be done to keep borders looking at their best.
Some borders are planted out with shrubs, we recommend shrubs to customers that want minimal time / money to be spent on upkeep of the garden.
Some borders are planted up with perennials which require a fair amount of work, cutting dead growth back etc.
Others are kept for annuals, or bedding plants, which are planted just before their flowering season and then, normally disposed of once flowering has stopped.
We can help design planting schemes that give you your desired balance between appearance, cost of planting and cost of maintenance.
Another important factor is the provision of mulch, commonly bark, gravel, woodchip etc. This serves a few purposes – keeps moisture in the soil, prevents rapid evaporation, supresses weed growth and can significantly enhance the visual impact.
We can supply many options with this – different mulches, different weed suppressant and separation fabrics. Guidance is given as to which would be the most suitable in your sitation, with the plants you have.
